Heartland Savings Bank

Heartland Bank is relatively unknown in New Zealand, primarily due to its lack of branches and decision not to offer residential mortgage lending. However, there’s a lot to like about certain Heartland Bank products. Its everyday banking and business lending options are innovative and most likely to drive the growth in its customer base. Media reports continue to challenge big banks and their commitment to business lending – but Heartland appears to reach out to small businesses when the big banks are reluctant to lend to such enterprises. And for residential customers, the YouChoose current account is one example of a banking product that leads the market.

The company also provides business finance products, such as asset finance, including term loans, revolving credit, finance lease, and operating lease; invoice finance, business call accounts, business overdrafts, funding options, and Visa cards, as well as letters of credit for importing plant and machinery.

In addition, it offers store and finishing livestock, stock lease, capital livestock, plant and machinery, and seasonal financing products, as well as term loans for land purchase, farm development, capital stock, and equipment purchases. Further, the company markets and distributes term life insurance and general insurance products.
